Here are some tips on how to get started with the seven steps:

Tip 1: Choose a niche

Research to find a combination of what you are interested in (your passion), what you know (your knowledge) and what others are looking for (the market needs). Don’t forget to consider the competitions of niche. It’s good to have a competitive niche but at the same time, make that it is something you love to talk about in the long run.

There are niches in travel, health and fitness, art, education, technologies, investing, etc.

Tip 2: Choose a name for your website

Choose a short name and or easy to remember. You can choose your name if you are not sure on the topic or niche yet. For example, Ryan Robinson chose ryrob.com as his domain name. Sophia Lee chose bysophialee.com. Michelle S. chose Making Sense of Cents as a domain name.

Tip 3: Create a layout for your website:

In the beginning, stick with something simple. Don’t spend too much time on it.

But to at the very least, have an organized way to show case your posts and pictures and share your products whether it is blog posts or your digital products.

Tip 4: Create a Schedule of Posting

Try not to overwhelm yourself in the beginning by posting every day then stop from burnout. The main thing is consistency in the long run. Post at least one to two times a week.

Focus more on producing high quality posts. Sometimes 10x content of your competitors in a few posts.

Hire people or set up a system that help you stay consistent with your posting schedule.

Keeping accountable partners really help.

Set it on the calendar your writing routine. Use reminder app seems to help me a lot.

Tip 5: Produce great content

This is one of the pivotal part- the meat and potato of your website.

People come to your website to learn something new. Other business partners come to see what you have to offer. Just some food for thoughts.

Think of it as like opening a restaurant. The food you serve is the information or the stories or the discovery or case studies you found. You need to keep producing fresh food for thoughts. 😉

You can charts, graphs, photo, video, and other helpful links to make it easier for others to understand or make a purchasing decision.

Tip 6: Network and Outreach

You can make the best hamburgers in town but if nobody finds it to try it then it’s very hard to maintain the restaurant.

The next most important step is to reach out to other bloggers, influencers, social media and companies in your niche to share your posts.

You can use Youtube, Pinterest or guest posts for other bloggers in your niche.

Start small with one social media at a time then build from there.

Tip 7: Monetize your blog

New bloggers tend to think about this part of how to make money from your blog too early on.

Instead, focus more on content and linking until you hit certain number of visitors per month.

About 6-12 months of consistent weekly upload of content.

Having a variety of ways to making money help. Not just focusing on affiliated programs or ads.

It’s fun to create your own digital products like printables and ebooks and other print on demand products.
